Wow. That was fast. Two weeks ago we began our staycation and now today we are back to our daily routine. The difference between today and Monday, September 12? We're rested and looking forward to the week ahead. Before it felt like a grind. It's amazing what some time off and a change of routine will do for a persons outlook.
So what's on my agenda for this autumn? Projects. Six projects to be exact. First and foremost is deep cleaning this house. I'm talking cleaning out those places that seldom get my full attention like closets, drawers, cupboards, shower tiles and grout, the oven, windows.
Another project is to organize, scan, and edit/process/restore all the family photographs and slides I've inherited. I have boxes and boxes and boxes of them.
Then a third project is taking all those photographs and put them together with all the family stories I've collected along with the family tree and form them into some sort of printable book or CD to share with all the cousins.
And then there are the scrapbooks I want to put together for my children. I've saved all kinds of stuff over the years and all that is in boxes. It's time to get rid of the boxes and get the stuff into keepsake albums for them.
Another project is sewing - can't tell what I'm sewing because they will be Christmas presents.
Fifth is to get all my recipes, my mothers recipes, my grandmothers recipes, my great-grandmothers recipes, my husbands grandmothers recipes all typed into the computer software program. That's going to be quite a project, but one I'll enjoy.
And last but not anywhere near the bottom of my priority list is to finish the two novels I've got going.
So those are my projects in addition to trying to keep up with my blogging and running my household.
The one thing I know for sure - if I accomplish half of what I'm planning to do, I'll not have much time to get into trouble.
So, you tell me:
What are your fall projects?
Do you tackle one project and keep at it until it's complete?
Or, do you work on all of them everyday?

I admire your ambition. Busy fall at my house to with life sports work and my writerly pursuits.

Thanks, Travis. I love reading about your boys games and your coaching endeavors. And I'm incredibly excited about your Feedstore Chronicles. Can't wait to get my copy.

I think staycations are wonderful, but my dear husband thinks otherwise. However, I understand his work day is entirely different than mine.
Autumn for me means:
Putting away all the summer clothes and replacing them with fall and winter clothes. I usually save a couple shorts for the nicer days, but for the most part, see ya' till next year!
The recipe thing sounds like a great idea. That should keep me busy on snowy days.
My top to bottom cleaning consists of one room per week. This includes the closets, garage, basement, windows, etc., as well as my daily and weekly duties. Mondays are my preferred days, but it changes from week to week.
Oops, getting a little wordy. I'll finish in an email!

I do have some projects - like cleaning out closets (summer to fall) and some music stuff I'd like to do, and I guess I'd say I can do more than one project at a time (well, not at the SAME time).
I was just thinking this morning how glad I am that I don't have projects looming like I used to (planning women's retreats, hosting family reunions, having weddings and/or rehearsal dinners at my house, etc.). Whew!
Life is simpler this fall. Whew!!
